    Connecting to OGC Web Services (WMS, WMTS, WFS)

    DTV can connect to a web service using the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) protocols

    The OGC services may be hosted by a range of different geospatial web servers like GeoServer, MapServer, ESRI Server, amongst others. The web services can be public or private and accept a username / password.

    Your web services must support the WGS84 or GDA2020 coordinate reference system.


     Instructions

    Connecting to an OGC service:

    To catalogue and share spatial data stored in a restricted OGC services, follow these steps:

    1. Logged in as a Group Admin, click on Datasources from the top menu.

    2. Click on the ADD button.

    3. Select the S3 datasource type from the drop-down menu and click CREATE:

    4.  Complete the details in the form and click the ADD button.

    Name: This is the name you and members of your Group will see for this data source collection in the DTV catalogue and in the administration console.

    OGC URL: The URL of your service.

    The URL will be the base URL of the service for example for the WMS

    https://opendata.maps.vic.gov.au/geoserver/wms?service=wms&request=getmap&format=image%2Fpng8&transparent=true&layers=open-data-platform:plan_zone&width=512&height=512&crs=epsg%3A3857&bbox=16114148.554967716%2C-4456584.4971389165%2C16119040.524777967%2C-4451692.527328665

    The base URL is https://opendata.maps.vic.gov.au/geoserver/wms

    Is public: Check if this service is open to the public and requires no authentication

    Username & Password: The user credentials of your private service
